Have you ever dreamed of seeing your child speaking confidently in front of an audience?

The English Speaking Board (ESB) public speaking courses have proven effective in instilling confidence in students all over the world. In our last ESB exams held in April 2008, we achieved a pass rate of 100% and 45% of our students were awarded the grade of Distinction and Merit Plus.

We specialise in helping children with shyness or confidence issues. No prior public speaking experience is required and Every Student Benefits! Please call us on 2575 1761 for an assessment.

What is ESB?

The English Speaking Board has been offering assessments in spoken English and public speaking since 1953 and is accredited by the UK Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The ESB has had over 50 years of experience in promoting holistic approach to effective communication and public speaking in in the Great Britain, in European countries such as Italy and Spain and throughout the Far East.

What's special about our Public Speaking coures?

  • Our innovative programmes are based on the English Speaking Board accredited syllabus. We use a blend of English language poetry, prose, drama, discussions and creative activities to help build our students' confidence. In the relaxed setting of a maximum class size of 6, each student will learn to:

    • Speak in front of others
    • Explore a broad range of poetry and drama
    • Develop existing language skills
    • Share ideas and learn to participate

  • Our native English teachers are all British educated and come from a background of English and/or Drama. They hold relevant teaching qualifications and have had experiences in child education. Teachers will adjust the teaching materials according to the students' abilities and lesson plans.

  • All students are assessed before joining a class. Our teachers will evaluate your child's confidence level in spoken English and his or her abilities to share ideas and express herself. Teacher will be able to better understand your child's personality and needs and hence find the most suitable class that is compatible with his or her goals and interests.

If no suitable time or class is available, students will be put on the waiting list.

  • Students are continuously assessed by our teachers who are trained to provide detailed reports on individual development every 10 lessons. Regular parent/teacher meetings will also be arranged to allow for discussions on student’s progress.

  • Parents are encouraged to raise their concerns or provide feedback to us. We believe that better communication between parents and teachers will allow us to plan the classes more effectively from which students will get the most out of them. We are always pleased to hear from our parents at any time and will respond to your questions and feedback asap.

  • Students can take part in the ESB Examinations. The ESB examinations are progressive and can be used to measure a student’s development. Assessment is external and is carried out by ESB examiners who will visit the Brandon Learning Centre from the UK. Assessment takes place within a participating peer group, as candidate interaction is an integral part of the learning process. Successful candidates will receive a graded ESB certificate.
