Communication Skills

Regardless of the size of business you are in, powerful and effective communication skills are an essential ingredient to success, especially in sales, marketing and management. This course introduces techniques on how to build and enhance effective communication in the workplace.

Realistic and relevant role-play scenarios tailor-made to your objectives will demonstrate how polished verbal and physical communication skills can benefit your business; improving confidence and delivery on the telephone, in person and via email; how to handle and lead meetings with confidence; improving communication in a sales environment; how to address groups with confidence and purpose; handling objections and criticism; building stronger relationships with clients and colleagues through effective communication; networking skills; solving common problems; and reinforcement mechanisms for lasting results.

Each participant will be given a Brandon Centre workbook to reiterate the key messages, points and guidelines.

Presentation and Speech Training

Speaking in front of an audience often rates as the number one fear for many people. In this course, we will draw from our extensive training and experience in the live presentation environment to help our learners overcome their fears and acquire necessary techniques for successful and powerful live speech and presentation.

Realistic and relevant practice scenarios tailor-made to your objectives will demonstrate the key ingredients to an engaging and persuasive presentation; how to generate and deliver a relevant speech that achieves the desired results; how to build confidence on stage; knowing your audience and how to capture their attention; giving your presentation a personal touch; the power of emotion in live speech; voice training; scriptwriting, content and structuring; effective adlibbing; how to handle last minute or no-notice presentations; avoiding common problems; combating nerves; fixing awkward habits; and the importance of image.

Social Skills

Productive and engaging social skills are one of the most important abilities a person can possess. However, not knowing how to communicate effectively in a social situation is a common concern to many people, especially in a face-to-face environment. This course is for those who would like to improve their social language skills, across a range of common life scenarios.

Realistic and relevant role-play situations tailor-made to your requirements will demonstrate how to increase your confidence in social situations; improving your verbal and physical communication skills; finding your unique selling oints and using them to a social advantage; how to engage other people; how to begin conversations; using open questions and finding topics of mutual interest; building rapport with others; respect and courtesy; the importance of body language; adapting social skills to friendship, workplace and dating environments; business networking; socializing with strangers, social skills via the phone, SMS, social networking and email; and reinforcement mechanisms for lasting results.

Spoken English Languages Skills

This course is designed to improve spoken English language and communication skills for second-English speakers in a succinct and effective format.

After an assessment of your capabilities, we will demonstrate a tailor-made approach of how to improve your current level of spoken English through the use of realistic and relevant role-play, telephone conversation and workplace communication examples.

We will explore ways to help you become a more confident English speaker; increase your vocabulary; speaking in both polite and conversational terms; learning to use the English language creatively; English language skills for social and business environments; grammar, pronunciation, articulation, sense and diction.

This course will be tailor-made to meet your business or personal objectives.

Intercultural Communication Skills

In a city with as many diverse cultures as Hong Kong, refining purposeful and effective cross-cultural skills is crucial to achieving a harmonious personal and professional environment. This course aims to improve your intercultural communication skills in both business and social situations.

Realistic and relevant role-play scenarios tailor-made to your requirements will demonstrate the importance of achieving positive intercultural relationships; recognizing and understanding subtleties in different cultures; key skills for effective intercultural communication in business and social situations; avoiding misunderstandings and common faux pas; respect and courtesy; the importance of intonation and body language; and building an engaging and effective rapport with others.
