Latin, French and Spanish Classes

We are expanding our French, Latin and Spanish Classes.Anyone aiming at top UK schools will be benefit from an introduction to Latin. Latin forms the roots of French, Spanish and Italian and contributes to English vocabulary.

2010 Easter Revision Classes

The Easter Revision Classes are designed for students taking Common Entrance, returning from UK schools or studying for GCSE/IGCSE. We have English, Latin, French, Mathematics, Science and Humanities classes.

2010 Easter Public Speaking, Drama and Debate Classes

The Easter Classes Timetable is out now. This year we have introduced new Drama Courses and details of the classes are including:

• An Introduction to Debate
• The Roald Dahl Challenge
• Fun with Dr. Seuss

The 4th  English Speaking Board Assessment is to be held in May. The deadline for the enrollment will be on 6th March.

Christmas Show

Shine on Stage!
We have a confirmed date and venue for our annual Christmas show. Join us on the 15th December at the Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, Wanchai, for an evening of great fun, and an opportunity for your child to showcase their skills in front of a friendly audience. All proceeds will go to Helping Hand who care for over 800 needy elderly in HK. .

Speech Festival Preparation

We have been offering Speech Festival training for three years now and have had some excellent results in both individual and choral classes. Our students are confident and ready to impress.

Summer Workshop Success

After a very busy holiday-period, the Summer Workshop classes have now ended. The courses were extremely successful, and we saw our students flourish in classes such as 'Dangerous Dinosaurs' and 'Shakespeare Workshops.' The students even wrote and performed in their own mini-film scripts, composed their own poetry and became investigative journalists!

Summer Workshops Updates

We have received a lot of enquiries about the summer workshops. Some classes are full now and we are expecting some more enrolments in the coming weeks. Thank you very much to parents who are so supportive of us.

English Speaking Board certificate presentation

In order to celebrate our students' achievements in the latest ESB assessment, we will be organising a School Show on 12th August. Our students will be performing onstage and it would be an valuable opportunity for your child to gain public speaking experience. Follow by the performances will be the ESB certificate presentation. We cordially invite all parents to participate in such memorable event to celebrate your child's achievement in public speaking!

April : ESB Edition

Congratulations to all our students who contributed to making the English Speaking Board Assessments 2009 a real success! We achieved another 100% pass rate and over 20% of students awarded the grade of Distinction. We are very proud of you!

The assessor, Mrs. Merriel Halsall-Williams, who also conducted the assessment in 2007, was amazed at the progresses our students have made over the years and the confidence they have shown during the assessment. As she said after the assessment,

"Congratulations to all of you who prepared Talks, Poems, Drama and Reading for your E.S.B assessment. I enjoyed meeting you and hearing your work. I am sure the experience has made you feel more confident about speaking in front of an audience and this will be so important to you in the future."

The results of the assessment will be announced in the class. The certificates will be awarded to your children later.

March has been an exciting month for us. Our students have been working very hard to prepare for the English Speaking Board Assessments which are coming soon. It is inspiring to see how confident our students can be and we are expecting some excellent results!

Brandon Learning Centre Awarded the Caring Company 2008/2009 Recognition

As a prime sponsor of the Helping Hand and the Christian Action, we, the Brandon Learning Centre, were proudly awarded the Caring Company 2008/2009 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service on 10th February 2009.

This is not an achievement attained by individual success, but collaborative efforts from you and your child. Thank you very much to all the teachers and parents who have been very supportive of us. We will do our best to make contributions to the society.

English Speaking Board Assessment: An international recognition in spoken presentation

The 3rd English Speaking Board (ESB: www.esbuk.org) Assessment will be held in April 2009. Our students who took part in the assessments have really benefitted form the experience and have grown in confidence as a result.

The English Speaking Board Assessment is open to all Brandon and non-Brandon students. The assessment costs around HKD 450 (calculated in UK pounds), depending on the levels your child is entered. The exams will be carried out by an ESB assessor from the UK national team and will take place at the Brandon Learning Centre. No administration fees will be charged by us. Successful candidates will be awarded a graded certificate.
